Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council
Granville Road Park is situated off Granville Road and Coventry Road (one of the main roads into Hinckley), about half a mile from Hinckley town centre.
The site's link to World War I is that in 1921 a First World War tank was presented to the town, and this tank stood for many years in the park alongside a field gun and shell cases. They were dismantled to provide scrap metal to help with the war effort during the World War II.
It has a play area installed in 2007 designed for children from the age of 2-14 in the centre of the site, which is accessible from a number of tarmac surfaced paths. The remainder of the site is predominantly grass with areas of trees and bulb planting.
