Jeanfield Park is located in an urban residential area of Perth and has no fencing or gates. A surfaced path connects Rannoch Road to the north with Hawarden Terrace to the south east and it is popular with pedestrians and cyclists as a level short cut towards the city centre which avoids hilly roads. There is a less formal but well used access south to Jeanfield Road. A play area, which was renovated in 2015/16, provides an attraction for families with children and is designed to cater for 4-14 years olds from a large catchment area (1000m ). A full sized football pitch is used by residents and the local football clubs (Tay Thistle AFC and Tay Thistle Youths) who have their own onsite changing buildings. The park is grassed with scattered broad-leaved trees and small shrub beds towards the Rannoch Road entrance; it rises steeply to the north west of the park where it borders with Jeanfield cemetery. The war memorial is in the form of a former water fountain and is located prominently within a surfaced area off the path near Hawarden Terrace.
