Leave a gift in your will
Legacies and donations play a vital role in helping us continue our work. Leaving us a gift in your Will is a wonderful way to ensure that the spaces you love and enjoyed throughout life will always be there for future generations to enjoy. After taking care of family and friends, leaving a gift to us helps ensure that there will always be green places for sport, play and relaxing.
Leaving a legacy gift
Here are some simple steps to leaving us a legacy gift:
- State in your Will that you would like to leave a gift to us. It’s worth using a professional such as a solicitor or will-writer to ensure your Will is legal and valid.
- Include our full name, to make sure the money goes to the right place: NPFA Fields in Trust, Registered Charity Numbers in England and Wales: 306070, Scotland the OSCR Registration Number is SC040357.
What type of gift can you leave?
There are many different types – it depends what you would like to provide. Some examples include:
- A share of your estate. After you’ve provided for your family and friends, you can leave a share, or the remainder, of your estate to us. This is called a ‘residuary gift’.
- Cash gift. This is when you leave an exact sum of money to us. It's known as a ‘pecuniary gift’.
Any money left to a charity is free from inheritance tax. This means that a gift in a Will to Fields in Trust will not only help keep this a green and pleasant land, but will reduce inheritance tax payable on an estate - and may help to avoid any tax being paid at all.
Thank you for your generosity.
