The park is rectangular in shape with good quality wheelchair access paths around the perimeter.
The entrance gates depict its status as a Memorial Garden. In the centre of the area is a rose bed planted to celebrate the Royal British Legion. There is a plaque on the bed to commemorate this and members from the Legion took part in the planting. Poppies were sown in the Spring of 2014.
The park has a number of seats that offer views over the Eastwood countryside which is celebrated in DH Lawrence novels. The park is next to Durban House the home of the DH Lawrence Birthplace Museum. There is new tree and shrub planting in the park together with a newly sown wildflower meadow. Local school children were involved in the planting of these.
