Alison Moore-Gwyn, former Chief Executive of Fields in Trust, was awarded an LVO in The Queen’s Birthday Honours List on Saturday 15th June 2013.
Alison first became involved with Fields in Trust – the operating name of the National Playing Fields Association – in 1980 as a fundraiser and went on to become a Trustee. She served as Chairman from 2000 to 2003 date before becoming Chief Executive in 2004, a role she retired from at the end of 2012 following the organisation’s successful Diamond Jubilee legacy programme The Queen Elizabeth II Fields Challenge.
"To have had the opportunity to lead Fields in Trust was a sufficient privilege in itself, especially during The Queen's Diamond Jubilee when we safeguarded over 1600 Queen Elizabeth II Fields. I am immensely honoured by Her Majesty's appointment as Lieutenant of the Victorian Order both personally and for Fields in Trust,"
"On behalf of Fields in Trust and all our supporters and partners I’d d like to congratulate Alison on this great and well deserved honour after 30 years involvement with the charity"
Helen Griffiths, Chief Executive.
