Lytchett Matravers Parish Council
Grassed open space in the centre of the village surrounded by decorative iron railings and planted with a few ornamental trees. There is a gate at the south-west corner which opens onto a block paver path bordered by ornamental hedges leading to the village war memorial stone with the inscriptions of the names of the fallen in conflicts from WWI to the most recent conflict in Afghanistan.
The grass area is kept short and neat. Occasional peaceful community events which are appropriate for an area which also accommodates the war memorial are encouraged – the most recent being a community picnic to mark The Queen's 90th birthday. Ball games and dog walking are discouraged in favour of using the recreation ground – which is located very close by.
