Leighton-Linslade Town Council
The land is seven acres of grassed land south of Weston Avenue, Leighton Buzzard. It was bequeathed to the Town Council in 1974 to be used for recreational purposes and, since that time, it has been used as public open space. There are currently two football pitches that are used regularly by local teams and there is a sports changing room. Local residents have requested that this piece of land is protected by becoming a Queen Elizabeth II Field to ensure it is only used for recreational purposes, something the Town Council fully supports. It is accessed by road (across the narrow guage railway) and footpath. There are no steps to the site enabling ease of access to all.
