Llantwit Major Town Council
This land was gifted to the people of Llantwit Major in October 1977, on the understanding it was to be retained as an open space. At the end of World War 2 many residents of Llantwit Major gave a shilling toward the refurbishment of the War Memorial Cross. On completion there was money left so it was decided to have Memorial Gates made to remember those who had lost their lives in both World War 1 and 2. These were made by the local RAF Station, St. Athan and after a number of years in storage erected at the entrance of Seaview Park. This year to commemorate the centenary of World War 1 the Town Council have had the gates refurbished to mark this special occasion. Seaview Park is accessed at numerous points from the local housing estate as well as the Memorial Gates off the 'Beach Road' The site has 3 benches and bins. The Town Council have a regular contractor who maintains the grass and hedges.
