The Village Green is an important space for local activities and regularly features village cricket matches. It was excluded when the surrounding land was enclosed and is now a registered Village Green under the Commons Registration Act 1965. The green is recorded in Volume 10 of the Hampshire Treasures Survey as part of the historic heritage of Fareham. Its open character creates a central focus for the local area, the church which is prominent at its eastern end and its survival retains the historic layout of the village. The village War Memorial sits adjacent to the green. The wide flat open space allows numerous long views across the green that are important to the character of the conservation area and these are immediately apparent from all approaches, they include important views of the historic buildings. The continued availability of the open space for recreation makes an important contribution to the range and vitality of uses within the local area.
