Barton Stacey Parish Council
The area of land was owned by the MOD before the Parish Council bought it in December 2014. The Army offices, Army playground and NAFI were also located here prior to the Army pulling out of the Village.
The Village Green part is an area for youngsters to play and many children (supervised by parents/childminders) and adults use it after school. The Green was the end destination for a walk in June 2014 commemorating WWI veterans from the Village (who responded to the call of arms and marched to Andover to enlist) which culminated in a picnic enjoyed by many from the Village. A Christmas tree is usually placed in the middle of the area and Christmas carols are also sung there. The back field is a football pitch used by children and adults for informal football games. Villagers use both areas to exercise their dogs.
