These are small, well laid out gardens used for quiet reflection.
The memorial within originally honoured the Citizens of Witham who lost their lives in the World War I conflict, now also honours those who have died in World War II and other conflicts. The main Memorial is a large Celtic wheel cross set in a curving wall, bearing names of World War II additions on each end of the wall. There is a decorative panel at the centre at the base of the cross depicting a First World War Soldier, bare headed, kneeling and holding a banner aloft. The Memorial is the centre of focus for the annual British Legion parades on Remembrance Day and other such occasions.
The Memorial Gardens are located at a busy crossroads close to the Town Centre. There are several benches situated around the gardens commemorating those who have died in various conflicts.
