We're helping to provide some virtual green space whilst you stay home this spring by Bringing Parks to You! Our next stop brings us back over the border into Wales and to Wrexham - immerse yourself in a trip to some of their local parks and green spaces.

Park gates

The Park Gates

Through the park gates on this leg of our tour we take a quick flight over the luscious open green spaces of Bellevue Park in the centre of Wrexham.

Park map

The Park Map

As we arrive at the park map once more it's time for a closer look at the park and green space in the town of Wrexham and surrounding areas.

Park bench

The Park Bench

On the virtual park bench we're delighted to welcome Sarah Atherton, MP for Wrexham, who shares her love of parks and green spaces through her 'Favourite Five'!

Park pavilion

The Park Pavilion

On our final visit to Wrexham we take a seat in the virtual park pavilion (with a cup of tea and a biscuit of course!) to hear the story of the Owain Glyndwr Fields programme. Owain Glyndwr was a legendary Welsh statesman and the last native Welshman to hold the title of Prince of Wales. In 2001, to mark his 600th anniversary, we launched the Owain Glyndwr Fields programme to protect green spaces in perpetuity in honour of his memory. Of the 30 spaces protected through the programme, 20 are located in the county of Wrexham! You can discover more about the programme, and the wider history of the work of Fields in Trust Cymru, in the below archive.
