Cornwallis Adventure Playground is located in the north of Islington. The adventure playground consists of a single storey log cabin which has a main hall, arts and crafts area, sensory room and other multi-purpose spaces. The adventure playground structures include a large wooden boat, swings, platforms, fire pit and a garden area. The surface is covered with crushed bark which supports children to play safely while encouraging opportunities for positive risk-taking. Children and young people have the opportunity to get involved in arts and crats, den building, cooking, gardening and a range of other supervised activities throughout the site. The front of the building has an all weather sports area with football goals and basketball hoops. The sports area is open at all times allowing access to the local community when the Adventure Playground is closed.
