Dulwich Park opened in 1890 and the design of the Park is attributed to J.J Sexby. The Park has retained its distinctive character and importance and as a result has a Grade II listing and is a Green Flag Award winning site. The park now includes restored and new features including, the lake with an attractive boardwalk, an orchard and demonstration vegetable garden. Other facilities in the park include a café, wildlife garden, cycle hire venue, outdoor gym, a playground, football fields, and a community centre. The park holds many events including the annual fair in May, which is organised by the Dulwich Park Friends. Has well as open air film screenings, sponsored walks, runs and a volunteer programme. The parks range of amenities, facilities and events offer something for everyone to enjoy, and is highly popular receiving over a million visitors a year, proving that it is a destination of choice for many people.
