Kings Bromley’s Village Hall and surrounding land were purchased for the village by public subscription in 1914 and today contains a playground for local children.
The land is protected as a Centenary Field in memory of William Grundy who lived opposite the hall with his five brothers. All six served in World War I but whilst his brothers survived, William was killed at the Battle of the Somme. He is one of fourteen men from the village who fell during the Great War.
