The site is a focal point for the village community. Favourably located, it has a Recreation Hall which promotes community activity through local events such as Film Nights, Chatterbox Pre-School, Drama, Dog Club and Country Market. It is also home to the village football and cricket teams, with both sports having junior teams and therefore promoting a healthy image and opportunity for youngsters to develop their potential. It hosts the regional Flower Show, which has been established for over a century, as well as sporting events for the wider community in the County. The picturesque ground is enclosed on three sides by well established trees. The open space is a haven for dog walkers.
