Sough Park Memorial Gardens borders Colne Road and includes a Grade II listed war memorial, formal flower and shrub beds, football changing rooms, a bowling green and associated pavilion.
The memorial itself was first introduced in the early 1920s with the stone laying ceremony taking place on 27th August 1921 followed by an unveiling ceremony on 8th April 1922. The park itself was then officially opened as a memorial park in 1926. Each side of the memorial holds bronze plaques listing the names of the 166 men from the local area who lost their lives in World War I and below each plaque is a carved wreath with ‘1914-1919’ in the centre. The memorial was added to following World War II with names of the 30 local men who fell during that conflict.
