The new garden under construction at St Paul’s Churchyard was formerly the Cathedral Coach Park and will be an attractive open space comprising of lawns, trees, ornamental planting and seating in a very busy and historic city centre location south of St Paul’s Cathedral. The designs were developed following extensive consultation and the site will be completed in the spring of the Jubilee Year. It is opposite St Paul’s Information Centre and will serve as a fully accessible amenity for residents, city workers and the many visitors who come to this area, providing a green space to relax and appreciate the surroundings. As it is envisaged the Queen will be coming to St Paul’s during the Jubilee Year, it is an appropriate, high profile location for a Queen Elizabeth II Field.
