Windlesham Field of Remembrance is held in charitable trust, with local residents having raised money in 1950 and 1987 to provide an area of land as a dedicated Memorial to commemorate those who gave their lives in the two World Wars. The initial purchase of land in 1950 was supplemented 37 years later by a wooded area to bring the total space to around 7.5 hectares. The Field of Remembrance is an open space, a place for rest, recreation and entertainment for the benefit for the inhabitants of the Windlesham Parish and visitors. The site has a dedicated war memorial and includes a pavilion and play area and is home to Windlesham United Football Team and Windlesham Cricket Club.
