This area is open green space on the edge of town which is popular with local residents for a range of leisure pursuits. Prior to the start of World War I it was woodland which was clear felled as part of the war effort to provide timber for the trenches at the Front. After the war the space was gifted to residents of Langley Park for recreational purposes in recognition of losses suffered by the community.
