Some tips on recording your own videos and information on how to send them to us.
Recording a video in your local park is a great way to share your love for the space and introduce to others what it means to you and to your local community. Where you film, how you do it and what you share is completely up to you! Here's some tips and idea to help you get the most out of sharing your story.
What you say is completely up to you, but here are some examples of the types of question you might like to answer.
What makes the park so special to you?
Why is it important to you that the space is protected forever with Fields in Trust?
Why is the park special to the community it serves?
What is your earliest memory of the park?
Some things to consider
When filming your clip, you might like to think about some of the following things.
Take a moment to think about what you want to say before you start filming.
Try to mention the name of the park once in the clip.
Try to keep each clip around 60-90 seconds long with a few seconds without speech at either end (or 60-90 seconds per question with a short pause in between if answering more than one).
Hold your phone landscape (horizontal) when filming.
Think about filming in the park, with a scenic background, or whilst walking around the space. Consider the position of the sun or, if you're not moving, any shadows to ensure we can see you clearly.
Make sure you don't cover the phone's microphone with your fingers so that we can hear you.
After you've finished filming, watch your clip back. If you're not happy with it then it's no problem - you can always record it again!
Sending us your clips

When submitting a clip we assume your consent for Fields in Trust to use the footage in our promotional materials, which may include but not be limited to our website, social media, digital publications and presentations, for up to five years from date of submission. You can withdraw your consent from use in future materials at any time by emailing comms@fieldsintrust.org. If your submission also features other people, please ensure that they have also consented to the footage being used in this way.
