In many cases, car parking is essential to encourage the use of a green space.
If a landowner wants to introduce charges for a car park on a site protected with Fields in Trust, that is their decision and not something that we get involved in. If a site is held charitably then the Trustees must decide whether charges are in the best interests of the charity and all proceeds must be invested back into the site.
If a landowner wants to expand an existing car park or create a new one on land protected with us, this is something that is subject to our Field Change Request procedure.
