The planning process is the chance for local people to support or object to a planning application. Fields in Trust cannot comment on individual planning applications and we don’t respond formally to planning applications.
There could be a planning application for a new structure on a site protected with us which doesn’t require our Trustees’ consent as it is permissible in the Deed of Dedication. We find that the vast majority of local authorities understand their obligations regarding land protected with us, therefore if there is a planning application for something non-recreational it is likely that it is on a part of the site that is not protected under the Deed. It is recommended in this case that you contact the landowner for clarification.
