Parks are the green lungs of our communities. Spaces which are proven to make us feel physically and mentally well.
Our Revaluing Parks and Green Spaces research found that parks and green spaces provide a Wellbeing Value of £34.2 billion per year to the entire UK population, and save the NHS £111 million each year in reduced GP visits alone. Green spaces make us feel happier and healthier.
However you use your local park it is doing you good. Whether it is for sport, nature, play or relaxation, get out there any enjoy your local green space!
One Small ThingThis week we’re asking you to do 'One Small Thing' each day - spend at least ten minutes in your local park each day this week. Pause and take a moment. Sit down. Look around you. Listen to the birds in the trees. Feel the grass beneath your feet. Love your local park!
