This week is all about raising awareness of what goes into managing and maintaining green spaces, whether it be by parks professionals or volunteer groups.
The hard work of many dedicated people help to ensure our nation's parks and green spaces are beautiful and safe places for us to visit and enjoy. This week we take a look at a topic which is often amongst the first to feel the pinch in times of budget cuts.
Whilst some jobs are best left to the professionals, there's plenty of ways we can all get involved with making sure our parks and green spaces look great. Why not see if your local Friends group run litterpick or gardening sessions? Alternatively, why not try to make this week's 'One Smal Thing' part of your routine every week!
One Small ThingWith this week’s theme involving maintenance of parks all we’re asking you to do is pick up five pieces of litter next time you’re in your local green space. This is a really easy thing you can do which will have an impact on the spaces we live, both by making them nicer places to be and helping local wildlife!
We've added new content to our Knowledge Base to coincide with this week, led by some pointers if you're looking for information about the maintenance of your local park.
